Attention New Members: Sign Up Now for Troop 605!
The mission of Scouting is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The eight tools used to deliver the program: ideals, the patrol method, advancement, adult association, the outdoor program, personal growth, leadership development, and the uniform aim to develop character, citizenship, and personal fitness in youth through hands-on experience and mentorship.
Scouts work in small groups called patrols, where they share responsibilities, develop teamwork, and take on leadership roles.
This system provides a framework for learning new skills and receiving recognition as Scouts progress through different ranks and earn merit badges.
Positive relationships with adult leaders and mentors provide guidance, support, and a role model for behavior.
Through outdoor adventures, Scouts learn a variety of skills, develop a connection with nature, and face challenges in a hands-on environment.
This involves opportunities for exploration, service to others, and activities that promote self-discovery and the development of good character.
Scouts learn and practice leadership skills through various roles, service, and responsibility within the troop.
Wearing the uniform provides a sense of identity, unity, and a visible commitment to the ideals of Scouting.
Troop 605 Challenge coins are used to foster camaraderie, recognize achievement, and symbolize membership and shared experiences within our unit.
Troop 605 Friendship Patches are a tool we use either to celebrate an occasion, represent ourselves at an event, or show appreciation for a friendship with someone new we meet along the way.
